The porphyry cords are coarse parallelepiped shaped elements used vertically for the formation of sidewalks, flowerbeds, steps and for delimitation of surfaces and floors.
The porphyry cords are subdivided by the width of the head from cm 5 – 6 – 7 – 8 – 9 – 10 – 12 – 15, usually have height varying from 20 cm to 25 cm and free lengths.
Based on the workings are cataloged:
• Split cords: with split head, split joints and natural quarry surface for sides;
• Natural quarry cords: natural quarry head, sawn joints and sawn (or flamed) sides;
• Sawn cords: saw head, sawn joints and natural quarry sides;
• Flamed cords: flamed head, sawn joints and sawn (or flamed) sides.
